An Eyeless Puppy

A few years ago I got a rarely happening case where a Poodle puppy was born without eyes! Yes folks, without eyes. I have never seen one naturally although we have studied it before. I treasured very much this case as not everyone have the opportunity to witness it. So, here it is for your viewing pleasure.

  1. Dear Vet Blogger,

Could you please keep us updated on how this puppy is doing? How in the world could a blind dog live? Please let us know that he is doing all right and that somebody is taking a good care of him.

  2. Dear Lee, thanks for visiting my blog. As for this dog, I haven't see it since the day I saw it. That's about 6 years back. Apparently, I think the owner has migrated to overseas. But, the owner was a pet lover, so, I think it should be in good hands. :)

  3. Poodle Lovers have a wonderful health database which helps to track all kinds of health issues in poodles, both genetic and environmental (as well as from unknown causes). Veterinary researchers use this information to help determine if disorders are inherited, what the trends are, etc.
Please, anytime you have a poodle with any sort of health issue, please encourage the owners to register that health issue with the Poodle Health Registry. It is for the betterment of all poodles. http://www.poodlehealthregistry.org/
    Thank you!
